It's a strange season when the Cannons aren't at the bottom - feels wrong, somehow. Jack, taking you out drinking tonight. Drinking alone after a loss like that just makes you pathetic.
I also really heartily suggest that everyone jump out of a plane at least once. Better rush than a lot of other things I can think of that aren't half as stupid.

Right then. This weekend went a long way toward making the standings look like what I'd picked in the pre-season polls at the Leaky.
If the Kestrals and the Wasps both pick up next weekend, and then Appleby picks up and Falmouth and the Tornados both drop the weekend after, I might be able to make some money on this season after all.
So, who wants a drink to celebrate? I'd be willing to buy any lovely young woman enough to make them stumble against me as I walk them home.

A win that big for the Arrows, I think I have an excuse to still have a bit of a headache, yeah? That's an up three in the overall rankings, too. Told you it's our year. First game was just a fluke. (Though it was a risk celebrating too much, since it was Montrose they took down... Sorry, Woods. Just not that sorry.)
Jack, you and me tonight. I don't care who you're shagging now - we go more than a week and I start to think you've gotten yourself caught in a file cabinet at the Ministry again. They'll find you in twenty years when some poor sap with your job title has to re-label things.

I don't know - Jenkinson didn't pull his weight last season, but he had a lot of potential. Strange to move someone from one of the Irish teams to one of the Scottish teams, though, wondering how Montrose fans are going to react to that. They're a crazy loyal bunch, and good on them, but there's going to be some catcalls at those first games.
Not as if any of it matters - this season belongs to Appleby, no offense to my very loyal Montrose supporting boss.

So I haven't been writing in this thing, mostly because I haven't wanted to and taking time to stop and write means having to stop whatever I'm doing. I didn't even write about the Arrows game, because of course they were going to demolish Falmouth - there's no point going around saying things like "fucking right!" and "Of course I won 50G on that match..." when it was obviously going to happen anyway.
But today - that game was fucking brilliant! It was going to be Montrose from the start, but you have to love a good spiral. Wish it could have happened to someone a little less shaggable amazing, but Regan's a tough girl, she'll get through the recup fast enough.
320, though? A little less impressive now that it's the same score the sodding Cannons had last week. Let's hope when the Catapults destroy the Wasps next week they raise the bar.
